LOCAL THERAPIST AIMS TO GIVE BACK TO COMMUNITY WITH FREE MENTAL IMAGERY CLASS

More and more psychotherapists are taking a whole person approach to therapy. Among this group is Montclair-based Amy Kruvant LCSW, BCIA, who provides psychotherapy aimed at the integration of mind and body.  Her repertoire of healing techniques includes Mental Imagery, (a form of mental biofeedback), Neurofeedback, EMDR and TFT.

“Mental imagery can be therapeutic and instructive,” Kruvant says, who particularly notes its success in helping her clients deal with stress, depression as well as physical illness. “A person came to see me to address her long term asthma,” Kruvant recalls. “After one session of mental imagery, she felt a shift in her condition.”

Empowered and inspired by the changes she has seen with her own clients, Kruvant wants to share her healing techniques with other clinicians. She is offering a class for clinicians of all fields and the general public called “Using Mental Imagery for Personal and Professional Well-being.”

Furthermore, the class is offered at no cost. Kruvant’s intention in offering the class for free is to give back to the community.  “What I am learning and sharing,” says Kruvant, “is a healing system based on having no expectations or attachment to outcomes.  Mental imagery is a modality which has been used for more than 4000 years. I believe it can be added to anyone’s inventory of healing techniques.”

Classes will be held on April 24, May 1, and May 8. Space is limited. Contact Kruvant at 973 226 5039 . Kruvant is a graduate of the American Institute of Mental Imagery in NYC. Also trained in EMDR, TFT as well as certified in “Neuro” biofeedback, Kruvant offers individual consultations by appointment in Montclair NJ.
